26th ANNUAL JOHN MARSHALL MEMORIAL DOUBLES TOURNAMENT

        SPECIAL TOURNAMENT RULES: 

 

Combined team averages cannot exceed 412.   Use highest ending average from the previous season yearbook.**If  no previous average then use average based  on  21 games as of two weeks prior to the tournament. If still no average then bowler must use previous years KSBO average based on 21 games of more.  **If still no average then bowler must use highest book average for the previous 5 years. If still no average then bowler will enter at 220. If circumstance warrants, a bowler may petition for re-rate.  Deadline to petition is two weeks prior to tournament.  If you are using an average that is from out of the KSBO’s jurisdiction or a 1 December average you MUST furnish written verification.  All competition will be scratch.  Entry fee for KSBO members is $70.00 per person. Guests are eligible to bowl at the guest price of $80.00 per person. The current KSBO rules apply.

 

        TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

  

All teams will bowl 5 games of qualifying across 5 pairs of lanes.  After qualifying is complete, the top 16 teams (based on 48 or more doubles entries) will advance to the quarterfinal round of competition with each bowling two match games.  The first game will be #1 vs. #16, #2 vs.  #15, #3 vs.  #14, #4 vs. #13 and so on.  The second game will be position round.  The top 8 teams will then advance to the semi-final round consisting of one more position round match game. Pins carried over from the qualifying plus 40 bonus points will be awarded. 10 points for each individual win and 20 points for each team win. At the end of the three match games, total pins (including

bonus) will determine the top 5 teams to advance to the TV format finals.  5th bowls 4th alternating every other frame through the game.  The winner bowls 3rd and so on to determine the Tournament Champion.   In the event of ties at the end of any match, (KSBO Rule V 2(c) under qualifying will apply). All TV matches will be bowled on the same pair. 

Once the tournament starts your lineup must stay the same for the qualifying and semi-final rounds.  Prior to the TV finals you may change your lineup one time.  Once the TV finals have started the lineup must stay the same for the remainder of the tournament. 

 

        TOURNAMENT DATE AND TIME:  December 13, 2008 at Hi-Joy Bowl.

        SIGN UP:  10:30 to 11:30 A.M.  ROLLCALL: 11:30                   

        PRACTICE:  After Rollcall       TOURNAMENT BEGINS:  12 Noon.

       

There will be added prize money and the pay ratio will be 1 for 3.   Championship status will be awarded along with All Star Points. 5 participation points will be awarded per bowler for all non-cashers.  There will also be High Team Game out of the Money awarded based on the highest last game of qualifying bowled.
